I joined Lakehead University as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. I embraced change personally and professionally to be the first Filipino selected for this position in Thunder Bay, Ontario. My students and colleagues at the University of Lethbridge have inspired me for 18 years to continue working for transformative teaching, research, and community practice. From 1991 to 2000, I have fond memories of my students and colleagues at the University of the Philippines (UP) Tacloban. My family migrated to Australia where I completed a PhD at the University of Wollongong. As a scholar-activist, "my geography is global".
